Patient Preferences
The Patient preferences tab allows you to choose certain defaults for your Patient Information screen as well as specifying defaults for boxes #10d and #19 on the CMS-1500 insurance claim form.

Refer to the screenshot and table below as an explanation of the Patient Preferences tab and each of its individual options.

  • New Patient Number - Set the number to be assigned to the next new patient you create in QuickPractice.
  • No Address 2 Button - Check to populate the button for entering a second line into the patient's address in the Patient Info screen.
  • No City-State-Zip Lookup - Check to toggle on/off the feature that allows you to quickly quarry any city state or zip code when entering data into the patient info screen.
  • CMS-1500 #10d - Create a default setting that will automatically populate a custom number for box #10d (reserved for local use) on the CMS-1500 claim form. Using this setting will prevent you from having to specify the number in each patient's Claim Data screen.
  • CMS-1500 #19 - Create a default setting that will automatically populate a customized number for box #19 on the CMS-1500 claim form.
